March 21, 2012: Conference on “Patinformatics for Research and Business Planning”, Pune, organized by CSIR (URDIP) and Society for Information Science (SIS).
I was invited to speak on topic "Best Practices in IP Research during R&D lifecycle". The abstract is given below:
In recent years, IP research has become an integral part of the R&D process. Globally, R&D teams are increasingly utilizing IP research and tools to update themselves of latest innovations, identify strategic opportunities to create new innovations to avoid reinventing the wheel and be aware of potential risks. As R&D and IP analytics are separate functions, these are typically performed by separate expert teams sitting inside/outside the same organization. The presentation analyzes the various collaboration models used in the industry, and discusses some best practices on extracting best results from the partnership between the two specialist teams.
